Volunteer Engagement Opportunities
Engagement Opportunities
Community and Congregational Engagement is the umbrella under which individuals and organizations support FPGROC staff, programs, and families to assist those at risk of or experiencing homelessness to achieve sustainable independence. We invite those with or willing to learn a family-centered, anti-racist mindset to join us through the following opportunities:
Volunteer as a Group or Individual
FPGROC relies on volunteers for a variety of jobs including cleaning, furniture moving, and other manual labor, organizing donations, answering phones, and (eventually) activities with the families.
Adopt-A-Month
Choose a month for your congregation or organization to adopt Family Promise! Activities during the month can include:
Preparing move-in kits for families graduating from the Shelter Program
Treating FPGROC staff to breakfast, lunch, or goodies
Cleaning the Day Center and/or shelter apartments during the month
Promoting FPGROC and engaging family homelessness through:
information in bulletins and extra announcements during services;
social media posts about family homelessness;
in-kind donation drives;
FPGROC’s Housing Action Collective presentation to learn how to become involved with advocacy efforts
… and more!
Organize a donation drive
FPGROC has wish lists at Amazon and Walmart and an updated list of gently used and new items needed for the Day Center and for families moving into housing.
